On Motherhood

“Give your children enough to do anything,  but not enough to do nothing”

Warren Buffet

As Mother’s Day approaches, I’ve been thinking about this quote.

As a mother of two,

it really resonates with me.

What Buffett is saying is simple: wealth should never replace purpose.

I like to think of it as raising

builders, not heirs.

One way I try to live this out is by doing hard things with my children and growing through those

experiences together.

Since my daughter Gigi was two years old, she has dreamed of becoming a ballerina. Along the way, we’ve faced storms. The toughest was 18 months of an undiagnosed injury. Those months were filled with uncertainty and fear.

But we kept going,

and we got through it together.

Now, at fourteen, she has the mindset and strength of someone far older.

I believe discipline lasts longer than inheritance. As a mother, my goal is to give that gift to my children.

If this resonates with you, I’ll leave you with another quote that inspires me as Mother’s Day approaches:

“A parent can give a child two things: roots and wings.”

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Have a great Monday, and

Happy Mother’s Day.
