On making mistakes
“Failure is education, not humiliation”
Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Failure isn’t something shameful, Taleb calls it “the antifragility”.

It’s how we become resilient.

One of my favourite books of all times is Against the Odds, by James Dyson.

As a founder, I find it deeply comforting.

James Dyson spent 14 years in his garage building 5,126
prototypes
for his cyclone vacuum.
That is 5,126 cyclones that didn’t work before the one that did.

He embodies what today’s quote is about.

As we launch our FIRE JARS, this is very much on my mind.

I started hand-drawing the designs in the summer of 2024.

Since then, it’s been 18 months of exciting and challenging work with the artisans at the Royal Glass Factory of La Granja, Spain, to bring my vision to life.

Seeing the idea move from a sketch to a real object has been an incredible journey. Full of mistakes, of course.

I truly hope you love them as much as we do.
